The service was great, nice pool, great location, Thrusday night fireworks, bar and happy hour on patio/bar service at pool, convenient to boardwalk, safe in room.
When we arrived, the room they had ready for us was not what was promised. The room they had reserved for us was a king bed. We were supposed to have a king bed with a pull out sofa. Water pressure in the room was poor.
The staff was professional. The grounds and setting were excellent. The fourth of Juloy fireworks were outstanding.
1 The misleading information provided about in-house restaurants and availability or non-availability of meals, and the impossibility of getting this sorted out. 2 The bizarre serving-hatch, through which one could observe one's partner in the bathroom!
Nice view of the lake
Big difference beetween the main hotel rooms and the "motel" rooms. Be sure to know what you are getting before you reserve. You see pictures of a $250 a night room, but its advertised as $160. When you arrive, the $160 a night room is cinderblock walls and crappy furnishings. For $250 a night, I'd go to the Sagamore. Also, the hotel honors Booked.net reservations, but will not help you at the front desk if you want to upgrade or change.
Carmen the receptionist tried to make our stay more comfortable
Heating/aircond unit very noisy - could not turn it off hotel was hosting rap bands - hotel almost full of teenagers much pot smoking At first offered back room overlooking car park when we had reserved a premium twin room with mountain view. Carmen found a similar room to that we had booked but it was not a twin Restaurants shut - other facilities full of rap bands - very noisy 2 nights - on first night a fight in the next room apparently resulted in hospitalisation of victim and police were called As so many rooms were let to rappers or band members it would have been far fairer not to book other guests at this time
Hotel Staff. We asked for a new room, for a better view, and they did it with a smile, no problem at all! Very kind staff at the restaurant too. And the spot : The view (right in front of the lake) is fantastic and you walk to the main street in... 30 seconds.
If anything, some infrastructures (like the pool area) need to be refreshed.
View from the hotel's main patio
Noisy. Room I got was not what the ad/website indicated. What we got was a motel 6 equivalent stay. Dining room was closed for a private function.
The location was the best. The historic aspect of the location was particularly enjoyable. The dining and activity facilities were excellent. The staff was helpful and polite.
We had a budget room. The beds were too soft. There were gummy worms (not ours) under the bed. There were some spider webs. The bathtub did not drain.
Great location, nice facilities and although not the cheapest hotel in the area, definitely a good value.
Taxes and a facility fee brought the rate up about $30 a night more than the initial rate, but unfortunately that's the same at most hotels.
Central location. Scenic view from pool. Lovely breakfast experience in restaurant.
Motel room needs updating.
Beautiful old resort hotel reasonable price Closeness to water park and shopping Beautiful surroundings (mtns and lake)
people in next room were noisy and kept us up all night.
Location was great.
Originally overcharged us $100 per night. Luckily I had my confirmation from Booked.net and they were able to fix it. If I hadn't been paying attention, they wouldn't have caught the mistake. Makes me wonder if they do that for everyone and hope people don't notice.
outside pool and the view from the pool area
the room the bathroom the the rack fall off, the sink was faucet was broken. Then we saw more cars in the lot then the Mountain view we paid more to see.
I loved the location of the hotel, great view of the lake. Got to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July without ever having to move the car and drive in all that traffic. Just sat on the lawn by the pool and watched. It was great. Able to walk to downtown, the boats and many restaurants. The room was very very clean and beds very comfortable. My wife is a travel agent and very particular with hotels, and she loved it.
There are just a couple of things I didn't like, The pool is great, but could use more upkeep, vaccum and skimming each morning would be nice. I hate when people put towels on the pool chairs to save them and then leave them and come back hours later. There should be a sign, saying towels will be removed after 1 hour to give others a chance to use them. The Restaurant by the conference center was not very good. We ordered Turkey, but it tasted and looked more like ham. I would not reccommed this restaurant and would not go again.
Location; pool and beach proximity.
Offering free coffee from 11-5 is insulting. Coffe in a place such as y Yours should be available all day. It was an obvious ploy to make sales At your resteraunt and coffee shop . Also it was apparant that several Guest were housed in standard motel rooms when they thought they Would be in the grand portion. People felt tricked
